10-kilometre hiking trip along the Laestadius trail

This medium-length hiking trip begins with a short car drive from the Korkealehto kota shelter heading towards the eastern wilds and the Kuurusenvuoma Laavukirkko outdoor church shelter.

Sooty pot coffee brewed over the small fire at the church shelter is savoured with sandwiches before heading back towards Korkealehto. Stopping off at Piimäkaltio, we fill our water bottles with fresh spring water, ensuring we have the energy to get back. If you want, you can hike unguided all the way to Lappean Loma, but a car can also be arranged to pick you up from Korkealehto. This hike covers a distance of 10 kilometres, and if you continue the hike to Lappean Loma, the total distance covered is 16.2 km.
